János Kristóf

- Born in 1922 in Dunabogdány (Hungary)
- He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest between 1947 and 1952. His masters were István Boldizsár, Bertalan Pór, István Szőnyi and Aurél Bernáth.
- 1955, 1956 Fiatal Művészek Stúdiójának díja (Prize of the Studio of Young Artists).
- 1957 Munkácsy-díj (Munkácsy prize).
- Since 1952 he has taken part in art events in Hungary as well as in exhibitions of Hungarian art abroad.
- He is a painter of the transformed contemporary rural way of life; he expresses his palpable devotions to the landscapes and people of the Danube bend in intimate, lyrical compositions.
